Just like previous work you have done on techniques, you will add this to your technique page:
1. Leading Lines: find an example of someone else's work, credit them, and then post YOUR example right bedside it! Can I get a woot woot?! 2. Foreground and background elements: find an example of someone else's work, credit them, and then post YOUR example right bedside it! (for an idea of what this is, take a gander at the turquoise brick wall (on the wall to the darkroom) and look for the red canoe and rocky mtn photos...that will help. -10 marks- Here's a list of famous AND successful photographers:
Choose a photographer from the list and do a quick google image search to ensure that you are interested in their work. THE TASK: You will need to find answers to the following: Basic Bio: When were they born? Where are they from? What was their life like? When did they die? Mention family life if it pertains to your photographer. (6 marks) Their work: What inspired them? What techniques did they use? What were they able to do or have done that no photographer had done before? (6 marks) Examples: provide 8-12 images of their work: look to provide links to where you found their work. (10 marks) Your Perspective: This is the personal part, where you get to comment on what you like about their work, what photograph is your favourite, and what you may have learned from them that personally impacts you. (8 marks) Total marks: 30 Method: You may also do this on your website and create a gallery of images with your written commentary, or you may create a slideshow in google drive presenter that you will need to share with: [email protected] Term 2: And here we go!
For the first part of this assignment you will need to find and example on line and then add to your technique page with your own example as well. 1. Vantage Point: Worm's Eye View! Don't forget to give credit in a text box of who shot the web example, and then be sure to clearly label your example. And so, go forth crawl around and create your wormy wonder. 2. Vantage Point: Bird's Eye View. Ever wondered what it would be like to fly? Think of this as your trial flight...what would you see from a bird's vantage point? Please note, you do not need to be WAAAAAY above the ground to take this photo. Find an example of someone else's and then go create your own. Wonder what all the whirring buzz is about lenses? Stay tuned and find out more here:

Bonjorno!
Remember how I made you create a CORE page? Well now's the time when the excitement builds and you get to develop that page to fulfill its true potential and beauty! Ohhh weeee wwoooooo! Actually I made it sound really cool and exciting but this in all actuality is for the curriculum part of the course...the BC Curriculum, that is. So while it may seem kinda confusing I am going to help walk you through it. Here's what you need to do: Step 1: Create your page much like the others - make sure it all "ties together" in the theme. Step 2: drop in a text box...can you feel me here? DRRRRROP that text in there baby! Step 3: Create a title that says: What I have learned after 6 weeks in photography: Step 4: Then, you need to list out 8-12 "I statements" of things you can now do, or have learned that you did not know before. So it might look something like this:
Step 5: Next you need to have a title that says: My Goals Under this you need to list 3-6 goals...or more, that you have given for yourself for this course:
Thanks for playing and have a great life...or er, day. -10 marks- Come on now don't be negative about this assignment: I am positive you will learn something...
Once again for this assignment you will be adding to your technique page. Steps: 1. Drag in a gallery tool (one that you can easily add in photos). 2. Search google images for an example of ""Negative Space". 3. Like before, drag that image into your technique page. 3.a. You will then need to add a text tool under the image to entitle the image "Rule of Thirds" AND be very sure to credit who took the image OR the website that you got it from. If you do not do this, you will lose marks. 4. It's your turn now! You will upload your image that you took with your cell phone or with your digital camera using the composition tool: negative space. 4. a. Again add a text tool under the image to entitle it negative Space AND that it is YOUR example. -5 marks- Bravo! Take a bow. For this next assignment you will be adding to your technique page. Set it up in a pleasing manner and in such a way that it fits in with the theme you have already chosen for your overall website.

This is your first assignment for photography:
1. Begin setting up your site! 2. Play around with colour and themes. (you may want to skip down to #5 first!) 3. Title your site: Photography by (your name) 4. For now you will need to create the following pages in your header: TECHINQUES GALLERY CORE ANDDDDDDD, now I want you to create a BLOG page! This is where you are going to answer all the questions from your online assignments...like this one! You will create a blog post and just call it: COLOUR THEORY! 5. Next, go to this page to investigate a little further: https://www.colormatters.com/color-and-design/basic-color-theory Spend 10-15 minutes investigating the above site. Apply what you have learned to your blog. 6. Open up a new post under BLOG and call it "colour theory". 1.Explain why you choose the colours and themes for your site. What led you to choose the colours you did? It is not enough to say, you just liked the colour. For example, I love the colour orange, but there are reasons why I love this colour. 2. What interesting things did you learn about colour theory that you did not know before? Take a bow and let Mrs. Chase know you have completed this mission. |
